Full List of Over 15 Features to be Removed from Google Assistant Starting January 2024
Google will bring the power of artificial intelligence to Assistant in the coming months, but before that, the company wants to reduce the number of features that come with the product. That’s right, Google Assistant will lose up to 20 features by the end of this month as it paves the way for more AI-centric features to enter the Assistant ecosystem.
Google Assistant features will be removed soon
– Ability to play and manage audiobooks in Google Play Books with your voice.
– You do not have the power to set or use media, music or radio alerts on any Google Assistant compatible devices.
– Using or managing a cookbook, transferring recipes from one device to another, playing an instructional video or showing step-by-step recipes.
– The ability to play recipe videos, see step-by-step processes and even manage cookbooks with Assistant.
– The stopwatch cannot be controlled by smart displays such as Google Nest Hub or speakers.
– You cannot use your voice to call the device or send a message to your Google family group.
– Assistant does not help you send an email, video or voice message.
– Assistant cannot help you reschedule an event in Google Calendar with your voice.
– Google Assistant in Google Maps driving mode does not help you read and send messages or make calls.
– Fitbit Sense the Versa devices lose voice control support for functionality.
– Only using Duo for calls from speakers or smart screens will get a caller ID.
– Voice control cannot be used to check personal travel schedules.
– The assistant cannot help you make a payment, make a reservation or even make a publication on social media.
Assistant has been a part of all the most important devices where voice interaction makes doing things convenient. Based on the features that Assistant has lost, it seems that Google is now ready to bring artificial intelligence to the voice platform to improve the current technology and take the interaction to a deeper level.
